Dr. Wilkin was invited to join the faculty of Weill Medical College at Cornell University in 2002, and was recruited as the Chief of Infectious Diseases and Global Public Health at UC San Diego in 2024. In addition to his role as Chief, Dr. Wilkin serves as the contact PI for the CASCADE RB2 UG1. He has extensive experience with international clinical trials through prior and ongoing ACTG work, investigator-initiated collaborations, and being contact PI for U awards from NCI. His prior leadership work within the ACTG includes chairing the co-infections and malignancy committee, being a member of the SASC (2018-present) and AEC, and being the current chair of ART TSG. He has been honored by the ACTG with the John E. Carey Young Investigator Award and the Constance P. Wofsy Women’s Health Investigator Award. ​
